"Counting beyond two years I'll have not seen my children. My youngest left behind: but a boy; to return I'll find a man.
I've often thought of how ill-conceived the perception from outside must be ... ... indeed, for who but I could understand the unseen pull that guides my life to be ... ... indeed, who could know when it is only now, in follow of countless years that I just begin to see the trace of past and leads that hint of future. Why am I here? To what grand and noble purpose do my hopes aspire? What blessed voice that lies therein of unseen course and follow to the call that binds the heart and soul. To dream ... the faith to live ... ... no questions rise, there lies no doubt. Bound of step as life commands: the next does follow. What still the peace brings forth my soul: to touch the face of unknown being. It is here, within land of eternal light that my life knows its’ ends. To have come so far to become so close; to have been so safe to become so exposed ... ... my life now knows this edge, this fine divide that wakes the senses real ... …my life now knows the inner call that drives the madness from my brow. What can be of any man whoso journeys forth in slight of home? What can be of mankind absent the wild and honest space whereof his true self be known? This wilderness is my home. The refuge of pure and honest heart ... life as yet exists as is supposed to be ... and then one day it is there around you, within you as bathed within the light of winter's dawn: the clarity of sight and understanding become whole. I have dared to challenge my life: to rid the comfort that calls its' cursed sleep. In answer to and of life's grand calling, I have followed and I have found. A place exists of life and spirit that holds yet still the refuge of all mankind. I have tasted the sweetness of this place, my life reborn of its' grace and wonder. I know not how my heart connects, in lead to where, not of, I know ... ... but know I, well, the destination ... ... the longing of my heart to claim its' home." |
